In Andrei Tarkosky’s Stalker, the scientist and author is led into the zone to seek out a room that grants its visitors their every wish.
As a counterpoint to this, Kristenssons work looks towards another sphere within the zone, that of disintegration.
The photographs, with their subdued colours and conscious use of composition create a landscape both liberating and bleak at the same time.
It would seem as if nature has taken over yet again, after the grand catastrophe whereby civilisation is left standing as nothing more than a memory in a desolate landscape.
